ORIGINS Exhibition at Salthouse Gallery, St Ives

I am delighted to be exhibiting as part of ORIGINS, the first exhibition by the Contemporary Craftworks collective, taking place at Salthouse Gallery from 10–15 May 2026.

Being in St Ives a beautiful part of Cornwall, this inaugural exhibition brings together seven artists whose work explores the relationship between contemporary art and traditional craft processes. Through a diverse range of materials, techniques, and approaches, the exhibition celebrates craftsmanship, texture, making, and connection to place.

Contemporary Craftworks champions artists who combine time-honoured craft techniques with a contemporary sensibility to produce distinctive wall art and sculpture. The organisation promotes artistic excellence, fosters creative exchange, and cultivates public engagement with craft as a vital, evolving form of contemporary art.

I will be exhibiting a new selection of contemporary textile artworks inspired by the Cornish coastline, and the quiet beauty surrounding the Helford River.

My work explores texture, memory, and atmosphere through layered textiles, natural pigments, stitch, and printmaking processes. Each piece evolves slowly and intuitively, shaped by weathered surfaces, shifting light, natural markings, and the ever-changing coastal landscape.

Through these tactile processes, I aim to create artwork that brings a sense of calm, stillness, and connection into the home — pieces that evoke memories of Cornwall’s sea air, coastal walks, and peaceful moments spent by the water.

Alongside original artworks, selected pieces from my Whispers of the Shore collection will also be available as limited edition fine art giclée prints.

Exhibiting within Contemporary Craftworks feels particularly meaningful as the collective reflects a shared commitment to material exploration, skilled making, and the continued relevance of craft within contemporary art practice. Cornwall’s rich artistic heritage and dramatic natural landscape provide a fitting backdrop for this first exhibition together.
